I am a passionate trumpet player, composer, and teacher. Having just moved back to the Bay Area, I am excited to share everything that I have learned with my students! In 2018, I graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies. I have performed at notable venues such as the Blue Whale in Los Angeles, Yoshi's in Oakland, and The SFJAZZ Center. I can teach trumpet, horn, trombone and tuba. Beginning students, middle/high school, audition prep for college and I can tutor with music theory/band assignments. As I studied music in college and played in as many groups as possible, I became a more established musician and the number of student's who wanted to learn from me grew. With any student who is in a beginning sort of stage with their musicality, I will start off by teaching them basic techniques, simple notes or chords(dependent on the type of instrument), and rudimentary knowledge of the notational system. Once they have started to make some progress, I take a unique approach by asking them of their own opinion for where they would want to see themselves go. I am goal oriented in my own career, so I instill the same mindset in my students. At the beginning of each month, we will have a check-in to establish both short-term and long-term goals. The previous month’s goals will be analyzed and our approach going forward will adjust accordingly to continue our trajectory. Musicians need a reason to practice.
