I have been teaching for more than 30 years, mostly in the public schools as well as privately. I have instructed large groups and ensembles, as well as smaller musical groups in and out of the public schools. Performing in various Jazz groups throughout the state has enhanced my teaching knowledge in the field of music education. Through my studio, I have taught voice, beginner violin and viola, music ensembles, music management, production, music publishing and audio engineering. I have also worked as a live sound technician for several CT venues. I currently perform in the ensemble, Ulterior Motif in the styles of neoclassical, gypsy jazz, contemporary and world music. For beginning students I like to start with building good technique and posture and making sure that the fundamentals are practiced thoroughly.  I grew up learning through the Suzuki Method and I like to teach that way as well.  Suzuki said that any child could learn to play music because like a child learns language through listening, a child can also learn to play music the same way.  With support from teachers and parents or guardians a child can become a successful and accomplished musician. For students with a little more experience, or an adult who is just getting back into playing, I will get them to work towards an attainable goal and figure out what it is that they want to get from the lessons.
