Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. As an avid music instructor of three different instruments, I have a very diverse teaching background that encompasses approximately six years of cumulative musical training to students of all ages. As a patient and understanding teacher, I have worked with students with Asperger's syndrome as well as students with severe ADHD. For beginner students of violin I always start with the suzuki method and alternate it with the "The new directions" method, while after 3 or 4 weeks I start with some repertoire according to how the student evolves. In the case of piano I start with John Thompson's methodology "Teaching little fingers to play", alternated with exercises of the book Junior Hanon for piano, I try to evaluate the student qualitatively before quantitatively at least once a month. I work with students to set clear goals based on their specific interests and needs. I love celebrating my students’ accomplishments and helping them find their voice. I find it very important to meet each student where they are, to turn weaknesses into strengths, and to use music learning as a vehicle to inform not only their skill set on the instrument but also their development as a person.
