In the first lessons, I explain the the beginner students the basic functionality of the instruments, the proper way to hold the instruments, how to produce a clear sound from the instruments and a Major scale ascending and descending, the one from which the first lessons or the next lessons is written. If the students already had books from prior music instructor, we pick up from the last lessons after answering questions t o make sure the students thoroughly understand the lessons from the previous chapters and he or she is ready to proceed to the next lessons. Some notable experiences I have had have been; playing in a classical quartet at the White House, playing fiddle in the bluegrass band at Cedar Point Amusement Park, playing electric violin with a country/rock band in Ohio and Kentucky, as well as participating in many orchestra tours throughout Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Sweden, and England. My name is Wes and I am a violin and viola teacher who is passionate about playing, working with students, and sharing my own passion for music with other people. I started playing the violin in 2006 and started taking lessons with a talented member of the Sarasota Orchestra. In 2008, I became the Concertmaster of the Chamber Strings Orchestra, a part of the Sarasota Youth Orchestra Program. A few years later, I was a second violinist for the Youth Philharmonic with whom I performed at the van Wezel in Sarasota, Florida at the end of the 2010 season. Read More
