For beginning students, I typically teach using Hal Leonard's Essential Elements book and the Flesch Urstudien book. Every student is different. I treat my students as individuals and adjust my teaching style to achieve optimal results. The way you practice reflects on how much enjoyment you get from playing and how well you perform at recitals/auditions, etc… I spend a significant amount of time, especially with new students, on the art of practicing. My belief is that performed music should be fun for the performer as well as the audience. I will always give my best effort when I teach but students are also required to put in effort if they want to learn and become passionate about music. I encourage my students to have regular practice routines but make sure they are not overwhelmed. When I teach I also like to ask my students questions (such as how much bow do you need for this note? or what is the best approach to make this phrase more expressive with your left-hand?) so that students can learn to come up with solutions by themselves and can feel comfortable practicing without my always being there to guide them. My experience dates back to mid 2021. I took courses for teaching the Suzuki method and have finished book 1 course teaching so my comfort zone is teaching beginner students and intermediate beginner. I am teaching about 4 kids right now all within age 4-6. Parents motivation is a strong key point for me. Without the parents strict and motivation speeches they will mostly likely quit within 5 years. Everyday practice is very important for improvement. Read More

Beginners generally get to start with proper technique via some harmony open string chords to common popular music, before stepping into the Suzuki or Essential Elements world. Once they reach the mid-levels of Suzuki I also start to incorporate common music for their instrument that may be separate from the books, bu almost more importantly I get the student to start investigating their own taste in music. This allows them to build a repertoire, be it fiddle tunes, jazz tunes, more romantic styles, classical, atonal, or other stylings they find themselves gravitating to. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Violin
I focused on piano but eventually went on to accompany choirs and violin. After graduating from Silla University, I continued teaching both violin and piano lessons in the United States. I enjoys teaching children and encourages lots of parental involvement. I use performance as a tool for motivation by having students put on in-home and group recitals often. I love working with my students and helping them to thrive through music, i find the perfect balance between music study and fun! Read More
