Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I am a 19 year-old student of Baptist College of Ministry in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Having grown up the second oldest of five siblings, I understand how to relate to other people and work with them even in difficult situations. As a Christian, I believe in good character principles and righteous living. I ultimately desire the best for others rather than myself. With a life of teaching ahead of me, I am constantly seeking better ways of instructing students, relating with their issues, and helping them find the best way to success. Read More

Depending on the instrument, I like to start working from a variety of traditional methods to get started. In the past, Ive preferred the Hal Leonard and Mel Bay series as a basis for learning piano, guitar, and banjo and for violin students- the Suzuki method (although I am not specifically a Suzuki teacher) followed by a prescribed series of etude books. Of course, this is helpful stuff for building a good, universal technical ability but I believe it is also important for a student to multi-task learning music that personally inspires them and that they can eventually perform with others. You must spend time and practice in order to see improvements. Developing a weekly practice chart is something I like to implement in my lessons. Using positive reinforcement and rewards such as stickers, or sometimes candy can be very helpful to some. I try to find out what inspires my students and I do not try to mask who I am. I believe being my funny, goofy self helps students to feel more comfortable and open in this supportive relationship. Read More

It is important that each student progress at their own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals and expectations. Acknowledging any and all accomplishments are key to fueling the students desire to learn more. My students can expect to receive homework and practice goals after each lesson. I want to find what inspires my students so I will always tailor my instruction to their wants and desires. During each lesson, we will start with warming up through scales and stretching and then moving to our practice goals for the week, through the practice goals we can determine what next weeks lesson should look like and what the student can focus on outside of their lesson.
