Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

My personal influence on the student's repertoire depends on the student and their goals. I enjoy working closely with my students to discover the kind of music they like and any specific songs they want to learn. I encourage students to always be thinking of new pieces and to bring them in to work on. I love teaching people the music that most interests them, and I prepare my students for whatever venues and performances that they choose to play, always encouraging them to get out and show off their talents. The following are books that I start my lessons with. In addition, I supplement with materials that my students are interested in learning. If there is a particular song or style that they would like to learn(and is reasonably within their ability level or I am able to modify), I work to teach it to them. Drums: ***The book chosen depends on a student's level and personal goals, but these are great books to start with: Drumset For Preschoolers by Andy Ziker(for students ages 2-6, or students that would benefit from a color-coded system initially) The Drumset Musician By Rod Morgenstein and Rick Mattingly(great for beginning drum beats!) Alfred's Drum Method(for learning rhythms and rudiments) A Fresh Approach to the Drumset by Mark Wessels with Stanton Moore(teaches an intro to a variety of styles, including rock, samba, jazz, etc.) Piano: Alfred's All-in-One Course This book has simple, child-centered lessons that are reasonably paced, teaches beginning music theory, and allows students the opportunity to write. My goal is to help each student reach their full potential. I care about excellent music making and interested in the character developed by striving for musical excellence. I believe every human, child and adult, has an inherent love for music and a musical voice they need to express. This is why I find great fulfillment in helping students of all levels and ages realize their musical dreams through classical music lessons. Read More

I've performed in several orchestras at the college level and competed in a variety of fiddle contests throughout the state of Texas, most recently the Fiddler's Frolics in Hallettsville, Texas. I have been a volunteer after-school violin instructor in the Houston Independent School District (Roosevelt Elementary, Gallegos Elementary, and Martinez Elementary) and local Jewish community centers. I'm also very active in the Houston opera and theater communities and have performed in nearly a dozen productions in the area, often in small accompanying orchestras and as a soprano and/or actress.
