Instruments: Piano, Violin, Drums

Music has been one of my passions since I was a little girl! I took up piano at age 8, violin at 13, and drums at 15. I've been known to belt out a tune here and there, too! There is nothing better than having an afternoon to lose yourself to creating and playing music. In high school, I was Concert Master of the Philharmonic Orchestra. I've had the opportunity to perform on the drums at various venues and was invited by my drum instructor to return to the studio to become an instructor myself, where I taught for three years. My goal is to help each student reach their full potential. I care about excellent music making and interested in the character developed by striving for musical excellence. I believe every human, child and adult, has an inherent love for music and a musical voice they need to express. This is why I find great fulfillment in helping students of all levels and ages realize their musical dreams through classical music lessons. Read More

Around this time, I also began taking students for private lessons on violin, guitar, mandolin, banjo and all the other various things I play. I want to ensure that my students are as excited about music as I am! Read More

Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Violin, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Electric Violin, Fiddle, Keyboard, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

For students of all ages, I start with a small book focusing on the essential elements of the instrument while teaching them something fun and recognizable. As basic techniques are acquired and musical concepts are grasped, I tailor the lesson to what the students long term goals are. An example would be a 12 year old on violin wants to excel in his or her orchestra program, so I pick certain pieces, books, and techniques to teach that will help them accomplish this. Read More

Instruments: Violin, Cello, Viola, Electric Violin, Double Bass, Music

For beginning students, I always start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. I've found this book to be the best at introducing the instrument and reading the music. I may or may not continue teaching out of the books (there's 3), but that depends on the student. By book 2 or 3 I usually begin introducing Suzuki, as there are many solo pieces for them. Suzuki is also great for teaching technique, which is essential to their skill-set. Read More
