lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Violin, Drums, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, Electric Violin, Fiddle, Electric Guitar, Djembe, Acoustic Guitar
Drums are my favorite instrument to play and I approach music trying to understand how all the instruments fit together. I was classically trained on violin from the time I was 6 years old and have since taught myself drums, guitar, electric bass, vocals, ukulele and some piano. I see now how all the instruments are related. They all share the same scales and notes and theory, and if you want you can play any music on any instrument. (There's nothing wrong with playing heavy metal on a ukulele or violin!). Read More

I understand that as a teacher, my job is to not just teach the instrument or a song, but to inspire a deep, passionate love for music. Because of this, I make sure the student is always engaged in what they are playing and are enjoying it. Read More

For beginning students, I like to start with a combination of the Suzuki method and Essential Elements. As the student progresses, I will introduce solo repertoire according to their level. In my years in the Baltimore/DC area, I took private students for extra income outside of my dayjob. Now in New Orleans after years of grinding as a performing musician, I've increased my roster of students as a rewarding and less stressful way to have a music centered career, primarily with guitar and drums. While keeping the fingers down and close to the fingerboard, the student may gradually build up the tempo using a variety of different bowings and rhythmic groupings. I strongly encourage students to balance their practice by studying scores, reading books and articles about music and other subjects, and attending concerts, master classes and lessons from their peers. I also strongly encourage the study and participation in orchestras and chamber ensembles. Read More
