I have been playing the violin for almost 20 years, it is a passion of mine to perform but even more so to teach! I love inspiring people to open themselves up to the world of music, especially classical music, though I can teach other styles. I was selected to perform All County and All State and later went on to expand my knowledge at Columbia University. I teach the suzuki method for violin and for piano. I focus on music theory, sight reading, creativity and performance. I also use excercise books for violin such as the Schradieck violin technique, essential elements and Wholfart method for advanced beginners. I first make sure that tension is released and once the tension is released, we move on to playing scales and learning bowing technique. When learning a new piece, the aural, visual, and written components encapsulate the primary step, as I believe it develops a deeper understanding of the piece before attempting it on the instrument.
