I have taught over a dozen students through my personal music studio at Florida State University, and many of them have gone on to win auditions at the university level. Some of my instructional goals are keeping students motivated, cultivating an appreciation of music and instruments, guide students to find their own music style, improve confidence and self-esteem, and maintain a respectful and humorous environment. Every student is different. I try to understand what is important to them and incorporate that into the lessons. I've also found that a combination of classical and popular music can go a long way in helping students enjoy any string instrument and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. I have a huge passion for music making and I am willing to accommodate students as best as I can and assist them to do the best they can do. I teach because I want students to walk out of my lesson with more knowledge than when they entered.
