My first experience teaching was during the summer when I began instructing swim lessons for the town pool. I quicly began to seek out a way to teach music before I was in college and built a small studio of beginner cellists in my home town. I also began performing in both classical and other styles during this time, something I continue to do today. I have enjoyed both being a student and a teacher and I am ready to create a diverse studio of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. Some of my instructional goals are keeping students motivated, cultivating an appreciation of music and instruments, guide students to find their own music style, improve confidence and self-esteem, and maintain a respectful and humorous environment. Every student is different. I try to understand what is important to them and incorporate that into the lessons.
