With compassion and engagement, I seek to share my love of music with others. A violinist since age six, I initially majored in violin performance and later music education at Wichita State University, where I performed in the Wichita State University Symphony Orchestra. Highlights from my time here include performing with the band Kansas and with the St. Petersburg String Quartet at Carnegie Hall. I like to show students first, visually and audibly, how a piece or an excerpt goes that way they can begin to learn it already knowing a basis. I try to let students play through their pieces as much as they can so they can become adjusted playing through an entire piece and not just small segments. Of course, I will let you know which notes are needed to be fixed and timing issues as well so they when you play through again you think about those specific things and try to correct them. I'm a very motivated cellist and private teacher who loves developing the talents of my students. I have had the opportunity to study at some of the worlds best schools of music including: Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, University of South Florida's School of Music, and was accepted into the Longy School of Music in Boston. At these institutions I have had the chance to study with some of the worlds leading solo and orchestral cellists including: Helga Winold, Emilio Colon, Janos Starker, Scott Kluksdahl and Lowell Adams. I have taught at the prep departments of Lynn University, Palm Beach Atlantic University and North Broward Prep School.
