My teaching experience began in high school as a counselor at a summer string camp where I worked with young students individually and in small groups. During my undergraduate degree I was focused on becoming a better player myself so I could become a better teacher to others and I worked frequently with my peers to work on my abilities as an instructor. I try my best to keep lessons fun, especially with the younger students. For example, Sometimes we play music games, sometimes we walk/dance to learn about rhythm, sometimes we sing. I also have small group practices each month to combine students at about the same level, they play togher, they perform for each other, make constructive suggestions and encourage each other. I was born and raised in New York City. All my life I have been passionate about the arts and music is certainly one of my greatest passions. I started studying classical violin at the age of 6 at the Third Street Music school in New York. (studied under the Suzuki method). I received my BA Music from San Diego State University and studied as a piano major and was a member of the SDSU Symphony Orchestra playing violin.
