I am not Suzuki-certified, however my teaching style does include a mix of Suzuki and independent materials. I like to teach music theory skills concurrently with technical lessons so that students can reinforce their practical training. I began coaching younger string students before I was even out of high school and taught my first private violin lessons while I was finishing my degree. After college, I played the violin with a Beatles Tribute Band called Number 9 and I also regularly played on violin and viola in the pit orchestra for the Augusta Players, Augusta's premier professional theatre company. I taught for seven years in the Richmond County Public Schools, two as a choral director, and five of which were with the Orchestra Program. Read More
