Wil S

Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Saxophone, Drums

Being able to teach others and share my knowledge is what drives me, so I like to see progress. I have a goal-oriented approach that differs depending on the individual, but the results are always there. I love feeling the satisfaction of a student learning. Not to mention the relationships that are built and how much I learn from them in turn! It truly is a give and take relationship, just another individual sharing experience and knowledge. Read More

Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice

For vocal students, I will generally begin with a book focussing on warm-ups and technique. Then I will let the student pick from a few selections that I have chosen that are appropriate for their voice type and range. We will work on these pieces for a few weeks in order for them to prepare for a small studio recital. Read More

Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Keyboard, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

Although my methods vary a bit depending on the instrument, the general plan is the same. For beginner students of instruments I focus first on fundamentals, such as finger placement, note names, what makes up chords so forth (again with a high emphasis on practice). I will gladly print out hard copies of chord sheets, note names, songs with chord markers if desired, or can display these digitally! For beginner students of voice, I start by teaching proper breathing, different parts of the voice, warm ups, and assessing the students vocal range. Read More

An opportunity presented itself at age 45 for me to study for at least 20 hours of instruction with a member if the faculty of the Hohschule fur Musik in Franckfurt who also served as Organist Titulaire at Saint Sulpice in Paris. Instruments: Piano, Voice, Violin, Keyboard, Acoustic Guitar

I tailor my lessons to each individual student. Students learn at different rates, so, therefore, I want each student to progress at his or her own pace, without comparison to where my other students may be at. I want learning an instrument to be an enjoyable experience, and though the student may have to do and play practices, exercises, and pieces that they may not necessarily enjoy in the moment, it will all be beneficial to him or her in the long run and I will incorporate pieces and selections that interest them as well. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
