Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I have a routine that I use for the lesson time--breath exercises followed by the vocal warm up and then working on a piece. During that process I always encourage an open dialogue between myself and every student. I want to student to feel as comfortable as possible and always have the option to ask questions and take part in their development as a singer. I believe that music is an essential component for enjoyment and learning throughout our lives. Music not only enriches our creativity, but it also gives us the ability to express ourselves by creating something truly unique. I began teaching privately through the Elizabethtown College preparatory division in 2010, and I joined the State College Music Academy faculty as a voice and piano instructor in 2013. My teaching methods are much different than what I grew up with. I remember at times being so worried to go to my lessons. I want my time with the students to be positive, open and understanding. In terms of books and repertoire, I do love using Hal Leonard for beginners. Whenever I give a student a critique, I always begin by saying something positive they did. Then I explain the critique and how they can improve the next time. I want my students to feel like they have accomplished something, while knowing that there is always room for improvement. Positive reinforcement always keep the students motivated. I began maintaining a private voice and piano studio in New Jersey in 2008 while still studying at music conservatory. I worked with a wide range of ages. After I got married, we relocated to Westchester, NY, where I have continued a full teaching and performing career. My active performing career informs my teaching and continues to build my knowledge of vocal technique, repertoire, style, language, and musicianship.
