For beginners, I like to incorporate a basic understanding of pitch, rhythm, and theory to develop their skills as a musician. I use a variety of exercises to develop range, intonation, diction, and breath control. The warm up part of the lesson is so important because it is where I can identify strengths and expose weaknesses that can be improved. I had two girls who loved to act and really wanted to be in the musical but had never sung a note. We worked every day after school for two weeks before auditions. I ended up casting them as Cinderella's Stepsisters. Their song was nominated for a Jester Award (astate-wide theatre awards program for Kansas High Schools) forBest Production Number. Hi! Im Kristen. Im a mezzo soprano. I love performing and teaching others the art of performing. I am passionate about helping singers improve their voices and learn how to love them. Next, I would go over theory and technique in order to blossom a stylistic way of playing for the student. Next, I would start with simple etudes and pieces for each student to learn and master.
