I began studying voice prior to college with world renowned teacher, Helen Boatwright in Syracuse, NY. This training was classical. Loving jazz, I started also to sing with Dianna Spradling at Syracuse University. Soon after, I decided to go to college for musical theatre at The Boston Conservatory where I continued my studies with Walter Boyce and Robert Honeysucker, both of whom used a more classical technique. Through the years as a performer, I have worked with many coaches and teachers short term in NY and LA. Read More

Singing: Bel Canto. I use the Vaccai exercise books for more intermediate singers. This helps to open up the throat by singing on Italian vowels. For repetoire I will use the Easy Song books for beginners, First Book of Songs for Intermediate and for more advanced students we pick out repertoire for specific voice types. For musical theatre I use the Singers Musical Theatre Anthology Series. Piano: Young children (5 or 6 years old) I start with the Music Tree primer. Read More

I love music and I love working with students of all ages. I studied piano from the age of 4, played euphonium in school band, sang in choir, and graduated from Michigan State University with honors in 2005 with a degree in music education. My teaching has taken me from inner-city Chicago, to Bay City, to South Lyon MI. I am looking to spend more time teaching one-on-one, as I feel that creates the most positive experiences for student and teacher. Read More
