Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I have been playing the piano for over 10 years. I decided to receive a formal education so I could teach others by using different techniques. I started teaching two years ago. I have created a home studio for my students to come and feel comfort in learning piano. My studio consist of keyboards and a upright piano. I have taught children who are artistic. I enjoy teaching people who are willing to learn and practice the materials that I have presented. Read More

For all students, I begin with assignments from 24 Italian Art Songs to teach fundamental vocal technique and develop a classical sound. Depending on the student's interest, they will also be assigned musical theater pieces or art songs in varying languages as well. As a student's ability level goes up, they will be assigned more difficult repertoire as appropriate. I have not yet taught professionally. That is one of the goals that I am currently pursuing by beginning my teaching journey now! However, I do have a lot of experience teaching nonprofessionally! In the past, I have taught and directed my church choir and praise team. I was voted to be my colleges all-female a cappella groups music director and am currently serving in that role. Melissa started teaching during her senior year of college when she took her first vocal pedagogy course. Teaching has been an important part of her schedule ever since. Over the years, she has taught privately, through various community schools, through several national companies, and she served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Illinois State University for two years. I first try to establish why the student wants to learn their instrument and what artists/bands they are influenced by if any. Although I do try to establish goals for them, these goals are reasonable and attainable. It is important to me that they progress at their own pace and have fun as well. Nothing is more important to me than helping others develop a passion for music and I will use anything from Bach to Beethoven or The Beatles to Guns N'Roses to help them achieve it. Read More
