I have been teaching others since 2006 during my high school years. It has continued on even to today; other than private lessons I have been a staff member for band in schools across Louisiana and Texas. I have always been dedicated to my students and their pursuit of musical mastery through setting achievable goals and helping students exceed them. I have been teaching students privately for three years. I took on my first student during my junior year of college, and during those lessons I discovered my love of teaching. I was trained in Vocal Pedagogy by Jean Del Santo, a renowned pedagogue and professor at the University of Minnesota. With more advanced students, furthering a students development and introducing more challenging concepts is what I focus on teaching. With drumming, I like to incorporate concepts such as polyrhythms, an understanding of different genres, improvisation, and ear training. In 2001 I graduated from State Music Academy in Bulgaria with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice Performance and in 2009 I earned my Master's degree in Voice Performance from University of New Orleans. Performing all over Europe and North America has been one of the greatest experiences of my life as a musician. For Piano, I use several method books, including the Thompson Method, Shaum, Alfred, and Bastien. For Guitar I use Hal Leanard, Mel Bay, and several others. I also use interactive software of various kinds. And for Jazz, Blues and Rock improvisation, I use Band in a Box to provide backing tracks for the purpose of practicing improv over chord progressions. Band in a Box allows the student to simulate the experience of playing with a band in various styles and genres, with the possibility of change the chord progression and also changing the key and tempo.
