For a clarinet student, I will generally warm up with breathing techniques and proper embouchures to produce good tone. Like many singers, I grew up with a love of music. I began singing in church choirs and honor choirs across the country at the age of 8 and started voice lessons at the age of 11. I was in many musicals throughout my teen years and decided to attend college to study opera at Louisiana State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance in 2012. In 2014, I completed my Master of Music degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Read More

For beginning students I select special lessons. I am careful to choose the appropriate music for each age. if there is a child, for me is very important the relationship with the parents, because they know a lot of goals from the child. Each lesson, we will start with stretches and warmups, and I will ask the student if there is anything they want to work on that day. After their lesson, we come up with a game plan together for their practice sessions in the coming week, including identifying which issues need to be worked on at home and how to do so.
