Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I focus on engaging my younger students, encouraging them to find their voice, and focusing on fun along the way. It is important that younger students have fun, and are encouraged to continue learning this art form. For adult students, I focus on repertoire and material that they want to focus on learning in their own style. I emphasize breath support, body alignment, connectivity, and remaining comfortable. I frequently compliment the student's effort and work, as I understand the struggles that they are having, and it is important to recognize their strengths and help them overcome their weaknesses in order to succeed. I am a professional musical theatre performer and director based in Kansas City and I received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in December 2018 from Kansas State University. I am currently teaching theatre at Providence School of Arts and I have been teaching private lessons since 2017. I have previously music directed and choreographed for both Stage Right Performing Arts and Christian Youth Theatre Kansas City and looks forward to teaching and growing the rising stars of musical theatre in Kansas City. My teaching experience has been with my church choir. I started out as the accompanist and helper. A year or so later I found myself in the conductor's seat. For two years I worked with my church's choir to bring out the best that they could be, and to bring joy to the congregation. Not only did I conduct the choir, but I was their accompanist as well. For high school-aged students interested in the classical method or those wishing to enter into solo/ensemble festival, I typically start with folk songs and the essential Italian Art Songs. For high school-aged students interested in musical theater and/or pop music, we try to find common ground on their musical interests and find pieces based on that. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
