I have been involved in Musical Direction since 2008 when I established The Milford Players as an annual summer community theater group. I have since worked regularly in Brooklyn, New York as the Music Director, and have worked with various organizations through out the North East region ever since. My favorite part about working with new artists is helping to reveal the incredible capabilities of the human body. So many of us doubt our ability to become a focused, competent musician because "we dont have the time" or "we're too old to start a new instrument". Read More

Depending upon what area/instrument of music I'm teaching, I use a number of different materials, including (but not limited to) Tonal Harmony (Kostka, et al.), Essential Dictionary of Music Notation, Accent on Achievement, Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, or Rock House Method (McCarthy). The skill level of the student also dictates what resources I'll use. In addition, I believe that the student should have control over his/her development as a musician, so I encourage my students to create a list of songs they wish to learn how to play. Read More
Instruments: Piano Cello
My teaching began in senior year of my high school. I taught at Memorial High School Orchestra, where I lead cello sectionals, taught one-on-one lessons, and coached chamber ensembles. In addition, I received training in introductory conducting. I believe that with my lessons, I have a balance between having fun and actually improving. Practice is absolutely mandatory to further improve one's abilities, and I expect students to try their best. Read More

Above all, I want to see my students develop the kind of love for music that can foster and sustain a life of appreciation and self expression. I enjoy seeing my students grow into their artistic selves and pursue their own musical interests with their newly aquired skills. Following my students musical tastes is a great way to motivate and encourage them while instilling the technical training they need to be great musicians. Read More

What does a normal practice session look like for you?
It can be very different between different practice sessions. They are more separated than connected. If my schedule leaves me with a lot of free hours, I would practice in a concentrating length. In the situation if I don't have a focused period, I usually break down the hours with a greater frequency, and a shorter duration. This gives me a chance to experience the repertoires that I've been familiarized from outweighing a predictable approach. For the pieces that are not new, I start off the practice from a particular spot, or the spot that I'm troubled with and then move to the other sections. For the pieces that are new, I tend to practice in sequence. But there are still a lot of times that I just pick a random spot to practice, then move to a different places without disposition of bar numbers.
If you have a Music Degree, what is it in (Performance, Education, Musicology, Theory, Composition, etc) and why did you choose that degree?
I have music degrees throughout entire academic studies in piano performances. I like to play in concerts, and enjoy preparing the pieces that are going to be performed in the upcoming recitals. Even if I'm majoring in performance, but I'm having an experienced study on music theory and education. The combinative engagement between performance and theoretical focus help me gain a better integrity. Interactions with other musical fellows during rehearsal sessions are fun. Degree of performance is demanding but is worth to pursue.
What is your dream piece to perform and why?
I like to experience all kinds of new music that are written after 20th century. Recently, what addresses my interest at most is the pieces that are composing for modern ensembles contain various instruments by applying extended techniques. I'll be exited to perform Music for a Summer Evening by George Crumb, la Monde des ronds et des carres (2015) by Misato Mochizuki, One of Us, One of Them (2005) by Ted Hearne, and Traces that Time Leaves on Built Form by Timothy Mccormack.
If you weren't a musician what do you think you'd be doing instead?
To be a computer programmer. Coding is a indelible skill that put people working in industrial jobs. The process of writing code is an interesting incentive, although a lot times people find that are very frustrated. I have never experienced a concentrating study for coding, but those well-known networking sites give me a fair amounts of information to stay in registration as an amateur coder. I like coding, that's fun.
What is your favorite style/genre of music to play and why?
I like to play pieces that are composed during 18th century through 19th century. Stylistically, the
