I teach students to transfer my extensive knowledge of music to anybody that is willing to learn. I started playing guitar when I was 12 years old. Later on in life, I started playing bass, banjo, ukulele and mandolin. I play in several different orchestras and bands. My orchestra playing involves a local theater company, as well as various high schools. I also perform regularly for Musicians on Call, a not-for-profit organization that brings the power of music to patients' bedsides in the Philadelphia area. Read More

I am a graduate of Rowan University, having studied bass with a Jazz Studies degree. I have been playing and studying music starting with piano at the age of 8. In the 4th grade I ventured towards clarinet for the school band and played academically until graduating from high school, after which I continued in a less formal manner. When I was 12 I switched from piano to electric bass and have been playing it ever since in various styles from rock to jazz to classical and so on. Read More

I have recorded records in professional studios, TV programs and have helped in many churches on improving their worship teams as well. I can not only teach a student the technique or musical aspects about an instrument but also help them and guide them in the logistics of performing, preparing and much more Read More

With my bass students, I begin with basic technique and ear training. My first goal for a student is to learn one of their favorite simple folk songs by ear, while also developing basic musical skills and instrumental technique. I believe that it is extremely important to begin developing a students aural abilities and creativity early on. I also will have the student begin to work out of the Simandl bass method book for simple exercises and introduction to reading music. Read More

However, we have quite a few tunes where we have to transpose back up a half step to accommodate a harmonica solo (evidently, harmonicas don't come in flat keys) or a difficult keyboard solo. If I didn't have the musical experience and training that I do, this would be a very difficult thing to do pull off flawlessly. Another band I recently began playing with, The Sharptones, is playing music primarily from the 50's and 60's which is NOT my genre of music. Read More

I naturally fell into playing music after receiving my first guitar at age 10 and have been playing ever since for 14 years teaching for 6 of the latter years. Beginning by playing classic rock/punk/metal/hardcore venturing into various sub-genres catered to these styles throughout his teenage years when he started writing recording his own songs playing in various bands in the Tri State area. Being completely self taught up until deciding to pursue his studies further moving to Boston, MA to attend Berklee College of Music, his playing evolved into playing more Contemporary/Fusion/Jazz/Latin/Progressive Rock styles in ensembles and privately w/ John Baboian, Jon Finn, Dave Fiuzcynski, Dave Gilmore, Mick Goodrick, Don Lappin, Tim Miller, Norm Zocher.
