I graduated from the University of Oregon with my Ba. in music composition in 2008. After that I moved back to Hawaii where I'm from and I began teaching private lessons. I have now taught music at several schools and am currently teaching at N.H.K.S. and teaching private lessons after school. I've been teaching private lessons for over 10 years. I use a variety of methods for young beginners (depending on their age) - Faber Faber, Alfred, Alfred Premiere, Bastien, and Hal Leonard. For beginning adult students, I find Faber Faber for the older beginner to well paced to teach fundamentals. My digital piano has engaging learning games to reinforce fundamental note reading and rhythm, as well as aural training, chord recognition, and sight reading play along songs. I have been playing drums for over 10 years and I am passionate about teaching and playing music. I have studied at Berklee College of Music and at Marian University in Indianapolis. In the Fall of 2008 I received the Fellowship Award from the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation. I have also spent time performing around the Indianapolis area, most notably at the Jazz Kitchen. I consider myself more of a Jazz fusion player but love to play Jazz, Rock, Funk, Latin, Pop, R & B and many other styles of music. Read More

Clarks "Technical Studies," Max Schlossberg's "Daily Drills and Technical Studies" and a variety of solo and duet books. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching adults part time as an undergraduate at the San Francisco Conservatory. In 2000, I moved to San Antonio where I was on the staff at Northside Music School as a part time cello instructor. I enjoyed teaching high school students, and helped them organize their busy schedules by encouraging and assisting them to keep a written journal of lesson assignments and key learning points and accomplishments made from week to week. I began taking piano lessons at the age of 8, and decided to further my studies by attending the music program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In 2018, I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Music, studying piano and music composition. I have taught music in many different places in since 2016.
