I love to work with students. I‘m a composer, pianist, conductor, and certificated teacher (in my country). I have been playing piano for 23 years, and have been playing flute for 17 years. I am familiar with music theories and traditional music history from the ancient and medieval to the twenty-first century in details as any other professional composer, so if you are curious to listen to a story or even gossip of someone like Bach, Haydn or Mozart, I can tell you one sometimes. To be a part a student's success in education is more than a dream come true. It is something special when the light bulb goes off. I have a lot to offer. I a thrilled to utilize skills to assist with establishing lasting relationships with my students. A student should progress at a pace they are comfortable with. But, also should be challenged if she wants some kind of future or if they want to play just for the joy of music develop it accordingly. Read More

The most important thing I place emphasis on in my lessons with students is individual growth. All students learn at different paces, and I believe it is important that as a teacher, I set realistic goals with my students at each lesson. When I practice, I tend to keep a journal with me to record what work I practiced that day and how I felt about the work I completed. Read More

Each student learns differently, therefore I will be constantly working to see what style of teaching works best for each individual. I have found that constant encouragement keeps students engaged and eager to learn and to let the music itself challenge the student. By finding out what a student is most interested in we can keep their love of music alive and use it to help them further learn to reach their goals. Read More

I believe the most rewarding thing about being a teacher is seeing a student come into their lessons excited and passionate about their playing. One of the things I find encourages students to practice is to give them mini rewards when they successfully play a piece or etude, such as stickers or stamps. My first teacher did this for me and it was always very exciting to pick out which sticker I wanted in my music. Read More

I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project. Our mission was to put music programs in schools that couldn't afford them on their own, particularly in urban areas around Walnut Hills. Read More

I tend to set my expectations high for each student while also taking the time to learn each student's personality in order to help them meet those expectations. I have learned through my numerous years of teaching that every student learns at a different rate but they can all achieve success. I believe in making my students comfortable. A relaxed atmosphere promotes an environment to ask questions freely. "Mistakes" are part of learning and growing! Read More
