My style is simple, friendly, no pressure and relational. I love to teach guitar. Again, if this isn't fun, you won't stick with it. If any instrument should be fun, it should be the guitar. All those guys on TV always look like they're having a blast. But before they got behind the camera, they put in a lot of practice time. My first experience teaching someone was when I was younger in my high school days, I was teaching my 7 year old nephew how to play ukulele which was an arduous task indeed. But through said trails and tribulations we managed to accomplish our goals together. Currently Im teaching guitar at the fine arts academy and I am teaching one student consistently while also substituting occasionally. One thing I have learned through teaching is that actually listening to music during practice is a big help and motivation which I like to include in sessions. Read More

As I previously mentioned above,I show each student as much as they can pick up.I can show a student just about anything they want to learn, but its really about how much they practice at home that determines their ability. If the student practices a lot we move much quicker and it becomes more fun and challenging.Music is endless and you can never stop learning.they are proving more and more every day how music affects your brain. When you just listen to music, you use every part of your brain.Few things do that. When you play music you are using even more of your brain. Regardless of which instrument(s) my student is learning, I generally teach at the pace of the student. I never rush a student, and I keep with a scenario that is COMFORTABLE for both of us. Being relaxed is important to learning, and I always stress having students' hands relatively loose while holding and playing their instrument. I have lesson plans that I devise myself, while referring slightly to instructional videos and books also. Read More

My method is divided in two categories: Application and theory. For beginning students we work on basic motor skills for the instrument. Through simple exercises, utilizing patterns from diagrams, most students gain a proficiency at handling the instruments within weeks. During this time students are also introduced to the notes and common chords, learning their names, titles and relationships to each other on the fretboard. Once the instrument has become familiarized and the students are comfortable enough, then we'll begin introducing theory into practice. Read More

My method begins by talking with beginning students to learn their likes and desires, so we can build a beneficial teaching plan together. I teach to the student, not to me. The results lead to a happier, more positive and dedicated student. I also teach in bite sized pieces, usually using the style of music, or even a favorite song the students like. Once a student has a small success, they will seek another. Read More
