To inspire....beginning withthe 1st lesson by showing you how to play a song.. I want you to fall in love with your guitar or bass. I usually begin by using TheMel Bay approach in learning how to read music and learning the application of chords.Bass guitar, is a different approach. Learning patterns and understanding the importance oflistening and establish "the groove". Regardless of the style of music you enjoy we will have a great time learning how to apply the music you enjoy with your guitar or bass. Read More

I am not interested in any student under 18 years old. How about the student's PARENTS ? Also, I am not able to go to students' homes. I don't have a car. All my students (Guitar, Violin, mandolin), get a special 4 color chart (of my unique design), with every song/tune they learn. This guards against forgetting the tune in the future. For these students, with my lessons, they can learn 4 Christmas songs > Joy to the World, Deck the Halls, Silent Night, Jingle Bells. + 1 New Year's Eve song > Auld Lang Syne.I have been playing the guitar professionally for over 30 years. All music teachers dream that their students will be players for life, and may even find a lucrative career in music. Unfortunately, the statistics say that most students put their instrument away after graduating high school and never find the time to pick it back up. For this reason, the only permanent thing we absolutely can pass on to our students is the love of music and the art of being a good listener. Read More

It is really fulfilling for me to see my students use the knowledge they gain from my instructions to improve their playing level. Effective practice habits are agreed upon between myself and each student. Goals cannot be achieved without effective practice habits. Students are encouraged to participate in their community and school music performance activities, enter competitions and do music examinations. These activities build self-confidence, help students to develop a sense of accomplishment and measure their progress. Read More

At the same time I was learning percussion and drums in grade school. Two years later, I started singing and piano lessons from my musical mentor and friend Margery Heinz. I started my musical studies at a summer workshop coarse athe the University of Southern California where I studied Jazz performance. Then I attended a local community college in New England where I received my certificate of music and from there I went on to the University of Massachusettes where I received my associates of music education degree. My method and teaching style are one in the same. I am a teacher of music, not a task master. The student will only succeed if he/she sees some success. With a small success, they will continue to learn more. Once students learn something they have in their mind, they usually will stay with music, sometimes for the rest of their lives. I like teaching beginners something easy. Then, I play along with what they learned. Read More

As I previously mentioned above,I show each student as much as they can pick up.I can show a student just about anything they want to learn, but its really about how much they practice at home that determines their ability. If the student practices a lot we move much quicker and it becomes more fun and challenging.Music is endless and you can never stop learning.they are proving more and more every day how music affects your brain. When you just listen to music, you use every part of your brain.Few things do that. When you play music you are using even more of your brain.
