I started teaching at Shoreline Community College in their musical theatre department, leading vocal warm-ups and giving 1-on-1 coaching lessons to actors in their musicals while performing there myself. One of the greatest honors of my life was spending 2 years training under Juilliard-graduate Charles Enlow while at SCC. Since leaving college, I have worked on-and-off as a beginner-intermediate voice coach and piano/guitar teacher around the greater Seattle area. I try to make the learning fun and interesting for my students. My goal is to have them look forward to their next lesson and make learning their instrument something they value. I believe every student progresses at their own pace. I make sure the lesson is at a level they can handle, but challenging enough to give them a sense of accomplishment when they achieve success. I began teaching private music lessons while I was working on my Bachelor of Music degree. I also was a teaching assistant for guitar classes at the university that I attended. After I graduated I continued to teach privately, at music stores and technical colleges including Lake Washington Technical College. I taught at Bellevue American Music for over twenty years.
