The goal of my instruction always is for the student to produce a rich, beautiful tone with the minimum physical and mental effort in any musical situation he or she may encounter. Every student is different, so all of my lessons will be tailored to fit the individual's needs based on his or her level of development. I will assign practice material to the students from my large collection of standard repertoire for trumpet pedagogy and performance. Read More

I have russian method way to teach. I was taught like this when I was young. Basics of music theory, names, titles, vocabulary. Then i teach first technical excersises. Once we master it we begin simple pieces to apply technique. Then we progress to more complex playing. And pick harder pieces to play. After 25 years of study I still practice my excersices daily. And I teach my students that too. Read More
Instruments: Guitar
I have been teaching people music since I was in college. I have experience teaching little kids as well as older adults. I like to give my students a combination of music fundamentals that I think will help them, as well as putting some focus on music that interests them. The key is to make sure the student is enjoying themselves. I have also put lesson videos on YouTube that include various advanced topics about things that I am passionate about, and I have received pleasant feedback on the content. Read More

I work with one of three methods books: Mel Bay, Hal Leonard, or the Berklee Guitar Method. I gauge this based on the age, skill level, and their time available to practice. Mel Bay is the easiest method to begin, whereas Berklee is more advanced and moves at a faster pace. Sometimes I slow Berklee down and combine it with Mel Bay as a teaching strategy (Mel Berklee, perhaps?). I also am not afraid to use alternative teaching methodologies or notational systems, such as tablature and internet resources, as I think these are vital materials that are relevant to how people interact with, consume, share, and learn music today. Instruments: Piano
I have over ten years of experience as a piano teacher, and have taught students of all ages and levels of experience. Learning piano is such a fun and enriching experience, and I love sharing this joy with others! With each new student, I like to evaluate the goals and interests of that student, so that lessons can be as fun and productive as possible. In my teaching, I focus on helping students play expressively and master technical challenges. Read More

Comprehensive method individually structured for each student. Books depending on level and age start with Standard of Excellence and are individually chosen to support the student. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
