For younger students with no sight reading experience, I will typically start of with Ted Reed's book Syncopation. This book starts the student off with a very basic music notation vocabulary. This vocabulary is often quickly absorbed so that the student may proceed to more complicated musical words or phrases. Proficient sight reading skills are hugely important to the Drummer, as well as any other musician who will strive to succeed. Read More

Suzuki held. Every child can absolutely learn to play the cello when given the opportunity and the patience of an encouraging teacher. I particularly enjoy helping others on their musical journey providing a holistic approach to each and every student. Everyone learns differently and taking a one size fits all approach will leave many students unhappy and/or feeling as though they dont have the talent to play cello.
