Usually, each lesson starts with some warm up ear training and performing, we then transition into practice pad or snare drum exercises to help develop technique, then move on to reading and understanding notation, and finally we focus on drum kit performance and some improvisation. In my experience of teaching I realized that students are different from each other some learn faster than others. If students don't understand a key or a chord I will show them an example by playing a specific chord or song piece.
