I am a passionate and encouraging music instructor specializing in guitar, music theory, and songwriting. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music in Songwriting Guitar Performance. I have gigged extensively in the Boston area and Midwest as a singer/songwriter, performed on various studio sessions, co-written songs in several genres, and played guitar for other musicians. While there, I studied with Richard Miller, regarded by many as one of the greatest voice teachers of the 20th century. Like most music teachers, my passions started with performing myself, and then using those experiences to educate my students. I have be a part of several operas, musicals, choirs, pop and Jazz ensembles, and each experience taught me tactics that I would not have learned anywhere else. Since my scheduled lesson with a student only represents a fraction of the time they play their horn, I keep it fun, upbeat, and encouraging. In lessons I have taught, I find that letting a student feel free to explore every facet of their voice is key, as exploration leads to breakthroughs!
