For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Bastien. If the student is older, we should progress relatively quickly and move onto more advanced books such as Piano Adventures. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire. I taught students through the Piano Preparatory department at Malone for two years. After graduating and moving to New York, I began to teach privately. For young kids usually, I go between piano adventures and TRC, also I write for them the songs that they really want to play.
