For beginning students, I start with Accent on Achievement, book one. Once the student has gotten a grasp of the fundamentals, I then introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for the student. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. If there are no immediate goals for my students, I prefer to focus on classical technique and tone exercises that I compile through a variety of method books for each woodwind instrument. This includes but is not limited to: Moyse, Kroepsch, Baermann, Ferling, Shaw, Filas, Lacour, and many others. In November 2013, Roy moved to the New York City vicinity to discipline himself, and study Jazz as a music based on American culture. In March 2015, Roy was accepted to the Manhattan School of Music. And also, he was transferred to CUNY Queens College, Aaron Copland School of Music. Then he graduated with the degree of Master of Music in Jazz Study in 2018.
