I like to teach students in a way that encourages them to think for themselves and learn how to correct their own mistakes. I think it is important for students to develop a solid practice routine, which they can use for years to come. I like inspiring students by going beyond learning their instrument to helping them understand the history of their instrument and the music they are learning and the role/importance of music to them. Instruments: Piano Voice Violin

In college, I taught a handful of beginning violin students. Throughout college and my years post grad, Ive taught private and group dance lessons and focus on technique and confidence. I apply the same concepts to my music lessons and love helping students discover their personal voice. I encourage regular practice and personal compositions. Every student is different and I am hopeful to find the system that works for each one. Read More

Since I'm focusing on voice lessons, I work with all students on being aware of their breathing. Having the right breathing patterns (since there are many varieties) is what can give you the edge and really bring out the best voice inside of you. Honestly, I mostly will give students recent pop songs that are good for the voice unless one is a stickler for classical songs, in which I sometimes use the 24 Italian Art Songs and Arias. I help students to progress at their own pace. Little by little, we build upon what we learned in the previous lesson. In the first lesson, I make sure to establish goals that we can always work to achieve. Read More

Instruments: Piano

Singing and/or composing their own pieces I highly encourage because I believe it is something even a beginner can do if they have the desire and it sets loose each persons creativity and lets their personalities shine. When I was in grade school I recall a lot of the teachers being quite dull and boring and thus it was nearly impossible to find interest in what they were talking about. Read More

Instruments: Piano

I customize lessons for each student because of different levels, goals, and tastes. For children, I usually start with a beginning method book such as Alfreds or Bastien. I introduce the fundamentals and work at the speed of the student, encouraging daily practice. I like to keep my lessons upbeat and fun so I always incorporate pieces that are recognizable to the student. If a student has a favorite tune from an artist, band, or a movie I will find them an arrangement that best suits their level. Read More

Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Violin Trumpet Trombone Saxophone Flute Drums Bass Guitar Synthesizer Accordion Ukulele Conga Latin Percussion Keyboard Electric Guitar Djembe Classical Guitar Acoustic Guitar

Why did you choose your primary instrument?
Because was what it was accessible at my house. Also my dad played guitar with so much taste that got me exited at a very young age. He was exited for me to learn and he considered very difficult task to learn guitar and even more for a kid that wants to play other kind of games too. I finished having guitar reunions with my dad and cancelling my other kind of games reunions that I use to have with my friends. Dad said that if I learn to play guitar he will get me a guitar for me so he did. After he thought all the songs and knowledge he had. He said now you are ready to go to private lessons with the best musician in town that we were lucky that my new teacher was an old friend of my family and the best musician in town.

What musical accomplishments are you most proud of?
I' m proud to play in big venues as theaters and big performance halls for concerts. Play and collaborate with amazing musicians. Being accepted by important musicians, producers and composers. Hard work and passion pays off. I m grateful for all the work and collaborations but for some reason I fell very proud to be able to expand my knowledge in music to the point of learning hundreds of instruments. Compose and record all kinds of music. It really seem impossible to accomplish what I have accomplish in music. Hard work pays off.

Have any of your students won awards or been selected for special honors? How have they succeeded?
Yes my students have been able to incorporate with good and famous bands playing in important venues. As for recording their own material with their creations. Others have achieve being accepted by renowned music schools and conservatories. Some others have enjoyed joining the art of teaching. As with engineering and producing, my students have achieve work for Tv, working in a recording studio or doing demos and commercials for their clients. Some of my students had achieved to perform in gigs with me.

What do you think is the hardest thing to master on your instrument?
Every instrument as any profession in life has easiest possibilities and hardest posibillities. Piano has more independence than guitar. In piano you could be playing a totally different parts in each hand. So Piano is more difficult for independence but is easy to know the name of the notes all over the keyboard seeing it very clear all the notes. In the guitar can be difficult to figure it out the name of a group of notes further in the fret board. The difficult thing of voice is that you don't see your instrument. In voice tuning can be difficult compare with other instruments that just by moving the hardware of a guitar can find the tuning you are looking. But in voice your ears, your health, your feelings can influence in your voice. You can sound out of tune cause your voice is tired or sick.
