Last year, one of my 2nd Grade Chicago Public School Band students performed the National Anthem for memory on the Alto Saxophone in front of 1000's of people at a race. One of my 1st Grade Violin Students impressed the president of Columbia College of Music so much that my students were offered life-time scholarships to attend Blues Kid's Camp, held annually at Columbia College in Chicago. I'm a vocal and instrumental instructor for over fourteen years who is passionate about helping students both express their thoughts and feelings through music and develop their skills in music as a door to open other opportunities in life. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Music from Abilene Christian University and have enjoyed performing in many excellent instrumental and vocal musical groups. I have had the benefit of sharing music in a wide variety of settings, including serving as the Director for the Montbello Drum Line during their trip to Japan in 2013, performing with the Colorado Symphony Chorus in "Too Hot To Handel", leading students and a full Coors Field crowd in the "7th Inning Stretch (Take Me Out To The Ballgame)" at a Rockies game, and writing and directing the school song for Roxborough Intermediate School. When taking on beginner students, I typically use a blend of method books and novice musical pieces to begin to build musicianship. With intermediate musicians, I tend to seek out anything of interet to the student while incorporating harder repertoire to strengthen musicianship and to continue to peek interest in music. With adult musicians, I let them guide me to their area of interest, and I capitalize on that to guide them to better musicianship, no matter what their skill level may be. Read More

I am a passionate musician, educator, conductor, and composer, and I have been happily obsessed with music since I began piano lessons at age 10. I joined the school band program in 6th grade, and since then, I have learned how to play and teach many different instruments.
