Hello! My name is Kathryn and I am currently a Senior at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire studying Vocal Performance. I have been taking private voice lessons for 5 years of my own, and will be graduating this coming Fall 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance. Shortly thereafter, I'm attending Graduate School to pursue a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance. My teaching is rooted in the philosophy of functional singing, which means everything I teach has a purpose rooted in the physiology of singing. We do a lot of different exercises and say a lot of funny sounding words, but each exercise is carefully crafted to maximize training your voice's flexibility, agility, or strength. Jill has been teaching children and adults for 20 years. I studied voice and piano and performed at various venues. Now, I focus more on teaching piano and voice. We work on technique, performance, note reading, sight reading, and interpretation. We also work on music theory.
