I enjoy helping each student reach their unique goals as an individual. I am trained as an opera singer and I specialize in classical/operatic and musical theater repertoire. The method books applies to my philosphy of teaching rhythm in syllables (ta, ti-ti, etc.) and found success with all my students in their abilty to read notes and play well. Students will be able to choose repertoire and learn technique through the music they love. Students are encouraged to discuss the music that they are interested in, their goals, and interests. For beginners, I typically start with the 24 Italian Aria book. We pick a song that the student likes best and work on that. At the same time, we also work on a song that interests the student within reason. There must be a basic grasp of the fundamentals of technique. First and foremost, I believe in healthy and safe singing. I believe that there is healthy and safe singing in every genre, but one must have an understanding of bel canto singing first to be able to sing properly in every genre. Read More
