I started my musical journey when I learned the banjolele in kindergarten. I switched over to piano soon after and took lessons for a couple of years. My Mom played the piano when she was growing up and always wanted to be in the band. My Dad was in band when he was a kid. He even played in The University of Texas Band when he went there. My teaching experience started in my senior year of high school. I have taught a variety of ages and levels. From 5th grade to 12th grade I enjoyed all of them! I love to watch my students grow as they take to improve on technique, tone and etc. I give students homework to practice and encourage regular practicing. Each person is unique which transfers to a different learning technque for each student. I firmly believe in making sure each student learns at his or her own pace. If my student is having difficulty learning something new, I will ensure the student understands the lesson a different way i.e. singing a piece, clapping the rhythm, drawing pictures... etc. No matter the lesson, each student will have fun and exceed in accomplishing their goals.
