Hello future students! I much enjoy sharing my experience as a creative musician to my students whether they are 5 or 55, beginner or advanced. I am a patient teacher and do my best to encourage each student to find themselves as unique learners (musicians) unto themselves. I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2002 with a BA focus on Music Composition. I am a versatile and engaging musician with 14 years of experience performing and composing in a wide variety of genres: Jazz, rock, hip-hop, folk, classical, electronic, electroacoustic, avant garde, ambient, soul, punk, etc. This is a resource that has proven to be invaluable in teaching students with a wide range of interest to help them develop both in technique and in finding their own voice on their instrument. My teaching experience goes all the way back to college. I would do private lessons for people at church and also some required teaching lesson classes I took for my major. My biggest thing I emphasize with lessons is discovering and developing passion. If you're not passionate about something then you'll never fully invest yourself into something. My goal with every lesson is to develop that passion into something.
