I began playing drums at a very early age and performing in my early teens. Throughout my teens I played in various jazz ensembles including the Empire State Youth Orchestra and began my studies at William Paterson in 2012 under the direction of Mulgrew Miller. At William Paterson I gained access to many incredible professional musicians and various performance opportunities in the North Jersey/NYC area. Since moving to North Jersey I've played at various venues such as Shanghai Jazz, Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, Joe's Pub and the Harlem Tavern. Read More

I've taught in a myriad of environments. My earliest goes back to instructing marching band/indoor percussion programs. My most recent marching program was Fusion Drum Bugle Corps. My college studies helped me branch out musically, and thus I started dabbling in private instruction which I found very fulfilling. I was a graduate adjunct instructor at NYU, teaching primarily concert snare drum. Nowadays, I teach at private music studios (a la School of Rock) and am building up a studio of my own! Read More

Teaching has been my profession since before my college days, when I begun by teaching guitar lessons to classmates. Since college, it has been my primary occupation. I lead by example as a musician, and I encourage regular quality practice and cultivate an attitude of discipline and a drive to greatness. A cross-discipline in music is my primary approach to teaching, and I make a point of educating my students in how to communicate with other musicians. Read More

After teaching for 12 years I don't have a fixed method. I have categories of students, from children who are trying to function in a band setting, to children who are trying to develop a musical or compositional talent. I take particular joy in teaching adults who believe it is too late to achieve levels of technical proficiency that would make them proud. My journey from classical music to jazz through pop, swing, rock, soul and folk has taught me how to blend in with any style, and my classical education has given me the necessary toolbox to communicate about advanced theoretical concepts with students who are interested. My passion for music and instruments dates back far more then I could remember. From a very young age, I have loved the idea and bringing joy into people's lives through music. For me, music has always been a means of expression, a way to express my love, passion, and commitment to life and this world. I enjoy all different types of music, however, I am a purist, and I have found that R&B as well as Merengue and Salsa are a few of the ones I enjoy teaching and learning about. Read More

My philosophy of music education is to provide students with meaningful and relevant experiences. Every individual has a personal connection with music, and as an educator, I wish to further explore that connection. Music is a form of communication and expressions; it is an outlet for one to better understand themselves as well as the world around them. I look forward to making music with my students, and to work with them to find their own personal means of musical fulfillment. Read More
