Lessons will include an introduction to sight-reading and music theory as well as playing by ear, soloing, and songwriting. Bass: Lessons will focus on technique and music theory. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, I also ask the students what do you want to achieve today in this lesson, or this week. I use what I like to call the 'journal method' in my teaching. At the end of each lesson, according to the progress a student has made, I will write a number of assignments in a journal the student brings every week. This way, a student can move forward in some techniques while giving more focus to another area that still needs a little work.
