I have taught drum instruction and Jazz ensemble at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music for 20 years. In addition I developed and implemented elementary music programs for K-5 thru 4th grade for schools in the NY vicinity. Upon moving to the Milwaukee area I have taught private and group instruction for the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Elementary Music K-5 thru 8th grade at St. Josaphat's school, Music Therapy and intergenerational activities at the Lutheran Home, private studio and now Musika. This is not because they can't, rather it shows that drum set playing is more about interpreting music--not necessarily playing it exactly the same all the time. I love to understand fully what draws each student to music and look to keep instruction and practice fun and relaxed. Music is a lifelong passion and I want to create an atmosphere that encourages creativity and a desire to seek out other musicians. My teaching style is not rigid and I am not afraid to experiment to see what each student responds best to. I have a passion for teaching and find it rewarding to see my student's accomplish goals that they have with playing their instrument. I encourage my students to participate with playing in live venues and support them by going out to music venues or concerts that they are performing at.
