I love teaching so I want my students to have the same love for learning. I convey this to the student by only giving the student what they can handle. I keep it challenging but also fun. I do this by letting the student choose their own music. I always add something fun into each lesson which keeps each student interested. Both students I've taught have had entirely different goals, one just trying to learn drumset and the other wanting to learn a song for his talent show. Since I was genuinely passionate about it, I had no problem working through hours of tedious practice to learn the skills I have today. I can still lose track of time while practicing. If there at level three but haven't touched 16th note triplets and go from there.
