I normally use the Standard of Excellence method books for most of my students; however, I am open minded to adjusting to each individual student's musical needs, whether it be Jazz, Classical, or whatever style music the student is focusing on. For Drummers, I prefer the Haskell Harr Method, or the Buddy Rich Method Book, as well as the Breeze Easy Method Book. I have seven years of teaching experience from beginners to advanced high school students. My teaching career began in 2015 as a teacher for The Joseph and Anthony Manzi Foundation Summer Band Camp. This camp was where I discovered my love for teaching. In the following years, I gained experience teaching private lessons in both my home studio and students’ homes. I have developed my own system and materials for introducing the fingerings and reading music in a methodical way. I write my own simple exercises and songs. I use the Wagner book and a duet book, and appropriate solos depending on the interests of the student. I customize the lessons and go where the student's needs and interests are. Popular songs can be good as solos, and some studnets really enjoy playing Handel, Telemann, and Bach. Read More

For elementary students and some middle schoolers, I usually either work out of Standard of Excellence or Essential Elements book 1 to begin their studies or continue where they left off. For high schoolers and more advanced middle schoolers, I like to have them play solo flute pieces that fit with their ability level. I participated in a musical every year in high school and even won 1st and 2nd division awards at our Solo and Ensemble Festival.
