My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons and running sectionals at the conservatory in my hometown. I have been consistently teaching students since either in my home studio, or at different private and public institutions. I have held different faculty positions in colleges in the past 6 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I teach each student based on their needs and goals. Fundamentals are key to playing well. I always want learning to be fun but effective. I teach the student how to practice to reach goals and help the student set goals. I teach in terms of musicality followed by technicality. Tone is what allows a performer to tell a story, but technique is also key. By developing a strong sense of fundamentals, musicality is easier to achieve. Read More
