I began teaching during my college days instructing saxophone at ASM studios in Avalon instructing school level students. At the same time I began instructing privately teaching a few adult students. This where my teaching began! After graduating at the music department, the Dean of Music recommended me for the music tutoring position at Valencia College and I taught under that position for one full school year. For beginning students, I use the Trevor Wye beginning books and supplement with solos, etudes, songs and exercises that I give them which are appropriate for their level. For more advanced students, I will use etudes and methods/ solos which are appropriate for their level. For adults, I will find their interests and select a course of study with them.  With all students, I will assist with their school music or any ensemble/ solo music they wish. In 2014, I graduated from Academy of Music Ljubljana (Slovenia) with a Masters degree of Musical Arts in Flute Performance. I had an opportunity to perform as a solist, chamber group member and as a member of Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra around Europe. Any time I teach, I make sure to plan every lesson so that the student(s) can progress as far as possible every time they are learning with me. With school-age students, I use the Orff Schulwerk approach often, incorporating their own ideas into the lesson and having them learn through various senses (imagery, movement, games, etc.). When teaching older students and especially in Voice, I make sure the student is giving feedback back to me on how they feel they are progressing throughout the lesson. Read More
