I start lessons by warming up and doing exercises. For children, I do this in a listen and response setting. Then I will work through school songs or performance pieces, focusing on rhythms first, notes second and musicallity third. These 3 aspects lead to musicial mastery. I finish each lesson with an easy cool down. With in each lesson, I focus on musical styles that the students are interested in and work towards goals that the student set for themelves. Read More

I tailor my lessons to the needs of the individual student. I use a combination of lesson books, solos and exercises to bring out the best performances my students can achieve at the time. I feel it is important for us to have fun while learning. I also use practice sheets as a motivational tool for children, so they can earn stickers and small prizes for putting the practice time in required to learn the skills needed to continue moving to the next level. For beginners children, I like to start with a primer book. Either through the suzuki method or piano adventures. Also, there are instances where I find simple pieces from different composers, put them together into a booklet and start teaching through those while having the student write music theory in a music notebook. For beginner adults, I think its best to start with things they're interested in playing. I know that adults gravitate towards music because they would like to play some of their favorite songs and through that I teach them music, both theory and practice. Read More

It is important and rewarding for both me and the student to have a passion for their music and learning. Because of this, it is important to me that each student sets their own goals. I will encourage and help the students to set high but realistic goals that will bring them enthusiasm for the music. I try to bring inspiration and a lot of guidance to each student. And I love to have fun. Read More

I am an Iranian-born musician that pursued a life dedicated to the midwifery of artist-led philanthropic initiatives. Later I narrowed my dedication to the community around me after the pandemic and national police brutality rise in the nation; however, I learned that my true calling is with the organizations behind the scenes striving to provide the youth with access to world-class music education. I strongly believe in quality music education for the youth because my lifelong theory is that bridging networks and social cohesion are increased by bringing children from all walks of life together through music.
