I'm a rather relaxed individual, and I don't like making my students feel pressured into achieving a specific goal in a strict manner. My attitude allows students to accept mistakes as part of the journey of guitar playing, while at the same time understanding that it is the correction of mistakes and discipline to play correctly that segways into higher level playing, and that the ultimate drive behind guitar playing is the passion to learn and expand their horizons either by attempting new techniques or ideas, or simply being exposed to new types of music. I am a highly organized and motivated professional guitarist with strong work ethics. Punctuality is one of my priorities as I mentored students who successfully passed auditions for the conservatory or private schools. I am fully qualified, with a B.M from Berklee College of Music. I have also been classically trained in a private school named the IMEP Paris College of Music, France. I am a very versatile player and teacher so I can cover any guitar styles and genres students desire to learn more about. Read More

I love music so much, that teaching it too is rewarding. I have the ability to customize my lessons for each student, as they sometimes process musical information differently. To see a students musical goals evolve is the aim of my lessons. It is important to understand the interests of the student, and the ability to teach the right information based on those interests. I really focus on offering differentiated instruction and understand the importance of being able to adapt student to student. I typically do break our sessions up into focused segments in my lesson plans. I ensure that we cover music theory, rhythm exercises, improvising, and more. As far as practice material goes, I begin most with simple sheet music and some print-outs, however, we will expand into books, recording, and writing your own music. Read More

I follow the classic Hal Leonard method books to begin and then, depending on the students goals and musical tastes move on to other books and works. For Jazz students I use The Real Book Vol. 1 For most students a fundamental part of understanding music and the instrument itself is music theory. Students will be given some basic music theory and reading skills to reinforce their guitar training. The most important thing to me is that the students learn and play music that they want to study. I strongly believe that everyone is very different. Learning styles and musical goals are very much a part of this. Some find reading from a book helps them, so for most students I begin by recommending "A Modern Method For Guitar" from the Berklee Press, however for others a book is not as helpful as listening to some music and watching someone play. I like to introduce as much theory as is desired from the student because theory is a very important part of the musical process, but if the student prefers to get playing first and understand the “why” later then we can work something out in that regard. Depending on musical interest, we can work with different genre's and pieces to promote specific techniques and practice routines. Read More
